Get a foot on the property ladder
If you are struggling to get a foot on the property ladder, then a special affordable housing day organised by St Edmundsbury could help you reach the first rung.
The borough council will be hosting the area’s first ever shared ownership day on Wednesday, 13 December at the Athenaeum in Bury St Edmunds. Seven different registered social landlords will be on hand at the event to give details of housing schemes which will soon become available, while mortgage lenders can provide advice on borrowing. Anyone attending the day, which runs between 10am and 3pm, will also get the chance to register their interest.
Shared ownership is the ideal solution for people who want to buy a home but cannot afford to outright. It allows people to buy a percentage of the home from a housing association and pay rent on the remainder.
