Competition, consultation, news and advice in Community Spirit

Community Spirit, St Edmundsbury's quarterly magazine packed with useful information, is now being sent to homes and businesses throughout the borough.

The back page of the September issue is a cut-out-and-keep guide to what can, and what can't, go in the blue, black and brown bins. Yes, we want your junk mail, plastic containers and newspapers in the blue bins, for example, but no we don't want carrier bags, fruit juice cartons or textiles.

There's also the opportunity to send in your comments about the effect the new Licensing Act could have on pubs and clubs near you. The magazine flags up the chance for young people to win £100 of Ottakar's vouchers by entering the Vision 2025 competition and gives information about various grants available, activities to enjoy and events. There's even a course to sign up for if you own a timber-framed home and want to find out the best ways of repairing it.

Copies of Community Spirit can also be picked up at St Edmundsbury's offices in Bury St Edmunds and Haverhill and from libraries.
