Suffolk County Council Locality Fund for Haverhill North.

Last year the locality fund supported the following projects:


To buy video recorder for Haverhill Police Station. To be used for community safety and crime reduction purposes. Matched funding from Suffolk Police


Purchase of defibrillator for Haverhill First Responder Scheme. Matched funding from Maggie Lee

To pay for schools mobile to visit Haverhill during school holidays to allow the reading game to be based in residential areas

Start up grant for Neighbourhood Watch

Towards security fencing for school to prevent unauthorised access to school playing fields. Matched funding from SCC, School, Borough Council and Havebury Housing Partnership

To cut back trees and clear undergrowth to improve appearance of area between Dovehouse Rd and Chaplains Close, Haverhill. Matched funding from St Eds Borough Council

To support crime prevention day at Haverhill Arts Centre. Will include property marking, recording of valuables, Neighbourhood Watch information and crime prevention advice

To support 3 counties transport in its first year. 3CT provides community transport in the Haverhill area. Matched funding from County and District council grants of £27,000 and Cllrs Warmington and Lee

Help towards renovating classroom to re-locate playgroup. Volunteers will be carrying out décor. Matched funding from fundraising

For lockable gates on the rear access to gardens in Havebury Housing Partnership's elderly people's bungalows. Matched funding from Suffolk Police

To provide new large screen TV at William Blake Court sheltered accommodation for the elderly to encourage socialisation

To provide property marking kits for new homes without marker pens for distribution in support of crime prevention operation

Start up costs of Haverhill Chamber of Commerce - advertising and running the first meeting. Matched funding from local businesses

To build sensory garden with solar powered water feature. Matched funding by school of £250. Parents to clear the site

To support 8 new neighbourhood watch schemes in the Haverhill area. Ash Grove, Beech Grove, Broadcroft Cres, Chestnut Close, Dunsey Wood Close, Elm Close, Hazel Close, Laurel Close. Matched funding from ST Eds Borough Council

To purchase garden furniture and barbecue for sheltered housing at Horace Eves Court, Haverhill

To improve street lighting in area around New Cangle Primary School, Haverhill

Provision of play equipment for new children's centre. Matched funding from NOP fund, NHS, SDA, St Eds B C and Havebury Housing
