Town Council Budget Delayed

Haverhill Town Council's budget vote has been delayed. This week's full council agreed to delay the decision to allow talks with St. Edmundsbury Council. St Edmundsbury have cut the grant given to the town council by £12,000 but have agreed to talks on how to help support town council services.

While on the subject of Haverhill arts, I thought I would remind everyone of the Face of Haverhill 2000. An electronic arts project created in Haverhill and now touring europe. The face is a morphed picture of Haverhill residents. Details of the project can be found at www.haverhill2000.com

Haverhill Arts Centre

Haverhill Arts Centre Celebrates 10 Years

Haverhill Arts Centre today celebrated 10 years as an arts and entertainment centre for Haverhill. Around 200 people who have been linked to the centre over the past 10 years attended. Jane Bone, a former Borough Mayor, who opened the refurbished centre 10 years ago spoke at the ceremony along with Tim Marks, the Town Mayor, Nick Keeble the Manager and Gerry Kiernan the Chair of the Arts Centre Trustees.

Comedian Jeremy Hardy, who was the first act after refurbishment is back again tomorrow (Thursday) night.

A new logo for the centre was unveiled, I will try to put a picture of the logo on this blog.
