Next year will see the replacement and extension of CCTV cameras in St Edmundasbury. This will mean all the Haverhill cameras will be replaced with digital cameras which will have a greater range and hopefully there will be cameras based in new locations.

New Sculpture Generates Discussion
The new Spirit of Enterprise installation on the first by-pass roundabout has certainly generated discussion. Apart from views, for and against, in the local press, the subject has been covered by regional and national television coverage including programmes aimed at business people.
Haverhill Enterprise 2000, the group who organised the sculpture, aimed to promote Haverhill as a town of technology and enterprise and help to give the town a positive image.
The story of the sculpture is available here

New Haverhill Town Centre Masterplan Launched
Last night saw the launch of St Edmundsbury Council's Masterplan for the town centre. This plan is now out to consultation. See Thursday's Haverhill Weekly News for special supplement.
The plan suggests areas of the town centre to be developed and has some original suggestions such as improving the Stour Brook to make it a central feature and moving part of Eringshausen Way to create a public square. The main areas for development are Queen Street, Station Hill, Gurteens and Jubilee Walk.
More details to follow.
